ClearTrace Director of Business Development

About the Role

ClearTrace is seeking a Director of Business Development to manage and oversee new business activities during a critical inflection point in the company’s growth. This position will report directly to the Head of Sales and will be given independence to cultivate new relationships, implement strategy, and work closely with other areas of the organization for purposes of driving broader growth and overall success. This role has considerable upward mobility opportunities in a fast-growing organization. 

requirements

  • 5+ years in a Sales leadership role
  • Experience in strategic selling and hitting revenue targets
  • Previous software/SaaS career experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Renewable Energy
    • Energy Markets
    • Sustainability/ESG
    • FinTech/Blockchain
    • Real Estate/PropTech
  • Previous leadership experience in managing BDRs/AEs/AMs
  • Competency in CRM systems
  • Bring a vast and robust network that is applicable to the product orientation of the company
  • Located in Austin, TX preferred; Located in New York, NY secondly preferred; open to remote for the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Head of Sales to oversee Business Development, Partnerships, and Sales Strategy across the company’s footprint
  • Lead and deliver presentations and pitches of a complex and innovative product to senior and C-level executives
  • Manage a pipeline of prospective opportunities and strategically navigate prospects through applicable staging (i.e. introduction to close)
  • Keep abreast of market movement/trends, competition, regulation, and general movement within the industry
  • Implement process associated with prospecting and account handoff
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure the feedback loop of customer needs and requirements are prioritized and implemented
  • Assist with marketing efforts, trade show presence (virtual and in person), and overall market-facing promotion and awareness
  • Work closely with marketing and product for content creation: case studies, use cases, E-books, product collateral, thought leadership, etc
  • Collaborate with Head of Sales to implement a CRM strategy and Pipeline tracking system aligned with the growth and continued scale of the organization
